thepnutgalleryI got results back from the other STI tests - all negative. Messaged Justin of the same, but he didn't have any comment on it, and still hasn't received any word from the docs on his test. I guess that's good, since my positive result came back almost immediately. We hadn't talked about the show at all, and I briefly thought about not going. But I'd invited Jack and Dale and they were very excited. Justin let me know he wouldn't be coming around 5pm, which I sort of anticipated. His chosen family is in town, which he probably knew when he agreed to go, but that was before syph. He did later backtrack a bit and say he'd like to go another night. They're playing through the 17th, so he still can.
Jack and Dale were early, so we were fairly early getting there. It's been about 4 years since I've seen them, and that amount of time just doesn't lend itself well to catching up. We mostly talked about our respective D&D campaigns. They have a 3D printer they're now using to make minis, which is cool. I might ask them for some.
We weren't first into the theatre, but no one had taken the front row seats, so I did. IDGAF. Dale had made me a copy of the soundtrack long long ago, but I couldn't get into it. Seeing it live was a completely different experience. Everyone had a phenomenal voice, though some of the physicality bothered me. The mom in particular needed some light direction on hand placement. My hands default to drag queen if I'm not given anything specific to do, she defaulted to Jean Grey. I wasn't really prepared for how heavy a show it was, and I don't know how the actors themselves in shows like this go through it every night. It ended just right, though, neither a magical happy ending nor a Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weis one. It's also FHA's biggest role I've seen him get, and I hope it's the start of bigger things for him.
It was past my bedtime when the show got out, though I'd have been open to waiting, the boys had to get back as well.
