We had our mandatory dancer's meeting at EOS, followed by two rehearsals I'm not in. I thought about going early to hit Big Lots, but decided to do it after instead. Towards the end of the afternoon, Joe sent out an email 1) reminding everyone of the meeting, and 2) mentioned there had been some changes to the dance assignments. He pulled me aside when I got there and let me know that he cast me in the Maybe piece, but that meant he had to pull me out of the other piece he was doing, and if we don't do that, then he'd put me back in the definite, because then I'd be down to one number, and he couldn't do that to me. Well...yeah. I'd still be doing the show, I think, because Jenna's Voulez-Vous is bound to be that good, but...damn. It was an interesting meeting, if somewhat sparsely attended for being "mandatory."

I went to Big Lots, bought a scratching post for Lady Miss Friday to ignore, some sour candies that were terrible, and a bigger litter mat. I got home around 8:40, then saw a text from Jenna from right after the meeting. Joe gave her permission to put me in Mamma Mia, if I wanted to. I did briefly hesitate. 1) I expected to get cast to begin with, and 2) I wasn't crazy about the choreo from the audition. I decided to take my chances, suited up, and headed back there.

I got there just in time to watch JC's piece for "Lay All Your Love." It's fine, just a little basic, a little boring. It's pantomime, which is apparently what he meant when he said he was "show choir." Good to know. Rehearsal for Jenna's piece went well enough. It's 90's boy band realness, and while it could be a little more dynamic, I'm digging it so far. I'm one of three main dancers in the first part...really, I was the first chosen of them, which did a lot to mollify my ego. It's a surprisingly high energy piece, too. I sent thank you texts to both Jenna and Joe after.
