Long Cat Makes Long Posts
Aug. 14th, 2007 09:02 amWhat a weekend. There was a guest DJ at Rich's, so I opted for dancing instead of Rocky (again...). Jason, Wyatt, and Dallas came over, and Matthew joined us for a little while, too. After Matthew and Wyatt left, we were going to go to Bourbon St., but we were cutting it close to escape the cover charge at Rich's. At some point, I decided to run there - partially because of my cover charge allergy, but mostly to burn off some calories/booze before we got there. I only got there about 5 minutes before everyone else, but it was apparently a crucial 5 min, since everyone else had to pay cover. Dancing was a blast - the DJ was good, the energy was high, and the company was outstanding. Ken had a couple (really really really) strong drinks while he was there, and his internal timer went off, so I snagged Jason and we started home. Jason kind of lagged behind on the walk home, and I waited for him. Ken seemed upset by this and walked significantly ahead. I ended up somewhere between the two. Back at home, Ken went immediately to bed, Jason and I chatted in the kitchen for a bit before he left, and then not 5 min. after he left, Wyatt shows up. I make him a (ridiculously strong) drink, and Ken closes his door…strange, since Ken is the one who texted him to come over. Wyatt leaves when he realizes that I am barely concious, and I decided not to question the closed door, and sleep in the living room instead. This proves to be fairly fortuitious, as I woke up early early with the beginnings of a hangover, and am able to take care of things and go back to bed before Ken wakes up, instead of waking him up.
In the morning, Ken wakes up and wonders why I'm on the couch, we have sex (for the first time in 4 days!!), and then breakfast, and then wait for other people to come over. Originally, it was just going to be me, Ken, Brandon, and Chris for the beach, but Jen also joins us. I'd only been to Black's once before, when I was about 17, and only briefly, so I didn't remember very well. That's a pretty burly hill. The view, however, is totally worth it. ;-). We played Frisbee, and I did piques along the shore, and Jen walked around taking pictures of the worst things she could find. We brought vodka and gatorade, though I didn't drink, since I make a very poor day drinker. The hike back up the hill is nowhere near as bad as the hike going down, and then we drove home. Back at home, Ken and I were going to nap, but ended up having sex again before he napped and I went to pick up Passout!, a drinking boardgame from the 70's. Back on 34th st., I had more awkwardness with Anthony (seems fairly common these days), and then picked up Thai food for Ken before heading back. We had been going to have people over to play, but ended up going out to Martini's and #1 on Fifth with Michael and friends instead. Ken thought about going to Montage when we left, since it was still rather early, but given that we were going to Cityfest the next day, we opted against it.
We left a little late, though we made up some time by driving part way there, and Asphalta smiled on us. Headed to a house-party thrown by one of Michael's friends, where we were at least acquainted with a number of people, and had a few drinks before heading out. I hadn't meant to drink, but I really wanted to try Malibu/Green Apple Smirnoff/OJ, and saw no reason to stop after that. For the record, my drink was fantastic! We met up with Brandon and Chris and then headed into The Brass Rail, where I had never been, for a little while. We took a break at one point to visit The Loft, but there was a huge line outside, so we just headed back to The Brass Rail and danced. At some point, we also met up with Justin, Dallas, and Kenny, though I couldn't tell you at what points they were there. Ken and I danced with a couple boys he knew from poker, and may have sort of made plans for an eventual grouping. Ian (the one Ken dallied with) was there with his boyfriend, and when Ken danced with them, I danced with a gorgeous black man who pinched my nipples. It's a really horrible thing, but my whole thing in an open relationship is just to make sure that if my man is stepping out, I have someone to step out to as well. The reverse also applies, of course. I sweated an AWFUL lot, but had a great time. Eventually, I think we headed back to #1 on Fifth, and Ken kept buying our friends drinks, which is fine, but then he talks about how he wants to save money…I almost always decline being bought drink by him, because drinks are too damn expensive. I don't decline just so that he can spend the money on another friend.
Anyway.
Eventually, the two of us go over to Taste of Thai, and he wants to buy me dinner….very insistently wants to buy me dinner…very very very…you get the idea. I have no clue what I want, and he doesn't hear me when I ask him to either pick something for me or just get something vegan and share, and we end up in a HUGE drunken fight over both the specific dinner, and him buying me things in general. He mentioned his b-day, and I think I kind of freaked him out a little because he wasn't expecting anything more than being taken out to dinner, and of course I am the most difficult person in the world to buy for. Back at home, I think we had sex again before napping, but we nap, and think about going out again, but really have nothing we want to do. We do, however, have amazing sex just before going to bed for real- I had pretty much been topping most of the weekend (except for Saturday morning), and made a very triumphant return to bottoming. The only downside is that I think I'm going to take a week long break from bottoming, and heal up completely from Pride, because every time I think I'm better, I'm not. I'm just glad topping has been going so well for me lately. I am a firm believer that in an open relationship, if you want sex, and your S.O. can't/won't, you have every right to go elsewhere. Ken expresses horror at this sentiment, but I maintain it's validity. He could still go elsewhere if he feels like topping, but at least this way, if he's just randy in general, I'm there.
Yesterday we moved more stuff to storage, did laundry, and went for a walk around some of the gorgeous houses in Northern University Heights….I kid you not, one of them has an actual castle tower built into it. Sleeping last night next to Ken was nice - even thuogh I spend most/all of my time with him, I sometimes feel as though I am next to him, as opposed to with him, and so I value us sleeping next to one another.
We sort of have a big week ahead of us. With so many August birthdays among Ken's friends, there are a lot of generalized celebrations going on, and a lot of things to be taken care of in between there.
