My First Folsom
Sep. 23rd, 2012 10:37 amWe went into the city early, to get there for Tom's brunch. Tom is Ken's ex, so it was super important that I be on my best behavior. We weren't the first people there, but we were fairly early. They had boozy juice and horny goatweed tea on tap. There was a bearded drag queen with a snap fan, a couple bears, and a gent in a gestapo uniform calling himself "Monsanto." Tom has a slightly Kentucky accent, and an absolutely adorable partner named Don. Tom is an aspiring photographer, so we had an impropmtu photo shoot in the alley way.
The fair itself was PACKED. Crazy crowded with all different manner of fetish wear. There was Parker London doing Tai Chi at one of the booths, Michael Brandon taking pictures with fans, but really just waiting to go home to his boyfriend, Minnie Mouse walking Mickey on a collar, a masked gent masturbating out his window, people with clothes pins adorning their bodies, a boy with a smiling puppy mask, trans folks with "proud sex worker" painted over their tummies....all I could think walking through the crowd was that these are my people. I'm home.
I ran into Ned, who said he "might" call me to dance for some gigs. I am not Carly Rae Jepson, I don't do "maybe." Either call me or don't, but don't just talk about it. Al was at the naked twister booth, and wanted to meet me there to play at 3:30. We were two blocks away at 3:20, so we headed back. A big black woman stopped me to say she loved me. What a coincidence - I love her, too!
The twister show was brief. I'm always weird, with those things. Are we playing twister, or are we posing? Both you say? I guess. Theo, one of the Danish gents, wanted to meet up back by TIM studios. We did, though it was getting chilly *fast,* so I'd put my clothes on by then. He rimmed me in the street, a couple passerbys took photos. Standard Folsom stuff, really.
We went back to Tom & Don's place for an afterparty, of sorts. Tequila shots and Real Talk. Don has some sort of terminal disease, Ken used to get piss drunk and lay in piss troughs. At one point, Don rimmed me downstairs. I think a 3 way was in the works, but I couldn't have possibly told Chip "hey, you wait here, I'm gonna play with these boys." I would later find out I left my Steamworks hat there, so Don is holding it hostage until I come back for it.
