Tentative Positive Return

Technical difficulties all morning, but since I work from home on Mondays, I was able to clean up a little more while waiting for technology. Julian called from Dallas to let me know the latter leg was delayed, but I just figured that'd give me more time. I'd have loved to have the place completely reorganized and cleaned when he walked in, but I knew that was beyond me. He asked me to make sure beer was in the fridge but it's really awkward to buy chems for an addict, even if that chem is very common and socially acceptable. I decided I wouldn't have time for the beer. I saw when his flight landed, but I have no clue how long it takes for luggage to get off the plane to its owner. He called, frustrated because his calls weren't going through and his phone was about to die. It was the start of a fight but I said I was on my way and hung up. We stopped at the store, he bought beer, I bought vegan nuggets.

He started unpacking at home and everything felt uncertain. I was tired for some reason, and started smoking as soon as we walked in, so that might've affected my perception. I don't really know how we were supposed to treat one another. Given both our more dysfunctional history and the trip itself. We should maybe be overwhelmed with excitement or something, but we've been in and out of each other's lives for 6 years. Just over a week apart doesn't seem like much. I guess when I consider Julian's phobia of moving back to AR, I can see where it was worse for him.

He called his mom, I laid with Lady Miss Friday. I tried to go out to join in the conversation a couple times but kept getting lost in my head. And it was really tempting to just crash early with Lady Miss Friday. I got up enough energy to go out after his call and I'm glad I did. We listened to music for a few hours, he thanked me for introducing him to so many of his favorite tracks.
