Devil Slay

Like magic, I did indeed feel much better in the morning! Huzzah! Took care of the kids, hopped down to work, though unfortunately Kris had to take an early absence. More claims for me! Though there was also a slip regarding her NOA day. Kathy asked me, JJD, and Din if anyone would volunteer, and while "volunteer" is not as good as "acquiesce" in this case, I accepted it. But then she remembered that Kathy herself didn't have an NOA day since we had yesterday off and she took it. Then a little more awkwardness where I accidentally stole some eservice. I eventually calmed down, I just got a little overwhelmed by the work to be juggled. Joked with Carl about the beginning chorus of Madonna's "Devil Pray" sounding extremely tempting.

Patrick stopped by during the day, though of course I wasn't there. Foiled by my one day in the office again. I guess he was just in the area, thought he'd say hi, and had to use the bathroom. Had a moment of panic over the state of our hovel, but Patrick knows me and it's not like anyone is shocked at the state of my apartment anymore. Julian was oddly cranky about the visit, but did offer to still have him over for dinner or something. Patrick was already on to other errands, though. I thought maybe Julian and I could still do something together - video or board games, etc., but we just made dinner and watched Netflix.
