Miss Peppa
Oct. 5th, 2021 12:02 pmUp before dawn - all the more reason to take a caffeine break soon. Maybe also a break from melatonin, since I remember developing tolerance to that, too. Ended up rushing a bit to get the kids taken care of and litter boxes cleaned before leaving. Given the weather, I wanted to make sure I accounted for traffic. Imagine my surprise when there was none. Not only that, but I found great parking. Score! Bonus score - Julian added a vanilla air freshener to the car. It's the little things. Slow day, but that was perfectly fine with me. Towards the end of the day, Lynelle let me know the Freida just adopted a puppy. She was just about to post to Teams about her: Miss Peppa, the senior French Bulldog. Name inspired by Lady Miss Friday, of course. That's a minor, vain, instance, but the feeling of inspiring others is wonderful.
Julian had just finished cleaning some when I got home, and again, just the reminder that not everything is my responsibility is nice. He watched Stargate, I laid with Lady Miss Friday. I'd have been fine staying there, but he got to a stopping point and we made dinner. It was a fun night for it, really. He didn't want to do Taco Tuesday - just felt it would be too much food. No worries! I hadn't unpacked my soy curls, though, so we just had a few "meatballs," a pack of ground "beef," and the "chicken" burgers for our protein options. He thought even the "beef" would be too much, so used the last of the "meatballs." The potatoes we bought before were on their last legs, so he chopped those up, added a can of condensed tomato soup and the rest of the meatballs, and made a chili. Delicious, just ironically not very much. We watched 30 Rock, smoked weed, and ate chips for the rest of the night. He also ate one of the cupcakes someone brought on Sunday, and I had to fight that weird food-jealousy. I did kind of want to try it, but there are desserts all over the world I've never tried, that I'll never try, and I'm completely fine not consuming those calories.
