Broom Broom Boys
Sep. 29th, 2021 10:21 amOne nice thing about going to the office once per week is how much it makes me appreciate getting to work from Lady Miss Friday's room the rest of the time. We had our monthly Teams meeting for the whole case management team- all the paralegals plus the admins. It was Carl's turn to lead the meeting, and he asked about our Sliding Doors. He used a broom as a metaphor, all the tines of the brush and such, but I prefer that spiraling web of crystal in my head. That's insufficient if I think too much on it, but my human brain has a hard time comprehending the infinite. He specifically wanted to know about major decisions we've made, about our navigator and our repair folk. I'd have talked for much, much longer when it got to me, but my inability to stick to a single line of thought, or even track it, saved everyone. I mentioned that for all that I think about Sliding Doors, it grabs my anxiety and takes it spinning down the web with it, so I try not to think too much about it. But I thanked Lady Miss Friday for everything she's done for me, perhaps a bit too open here and there. They're all used to me by now, surely.
Julian almost got into a fight with their neighbor at work. I guess the guy's a bully, and while Julian's got a short fuse and big boom, he eventually defused the situation! Mostly. The guy kept puffing "You wanna go?!" and Julian finally agreed...and told him to pull his pants down. Hah! He went to the store with Terry - I didn't need anything, so I stayed home and smoked. He thought I was on ketamine, but no, just stoned. Maybe wishful thinking on his part? I try to avoid taking them around him. He called his mom after, I tried to journal next to Lady Miss Friday. I used his lablet, though I should have just used a burner phone. I'll figure this out eventually. Google Photos gave me a reminder of old photos, and they focused on me and Julian this time. I made a collage and sent them to him, but he just said "oh lord," and left it at that. He bought a different flea medication for his kids - the most expensive one - and scoffed at the comparatively inexpensive one I bought. Price doesn't equal quality, and I keep having to remind him that a single dose of anything will not make the kids immune to fleas forever. I messaged Tim and Colleen about Pregiving, and scheduled it for Sunday. It'll be out by the pool again, since it's so crowded in here. It got to be late enough that we skipped dinner. Never a problem for me, but he felt guilty. All stuff he'll need to deal with in therapy, if he ever gets there.
