Regrettably Better

I heard Julian's alarm but didn't anticipate him getting up. He burned the candle at both ends, gotta recover. Took care of the various morning responsibilities and zipped over to the dentist. I was there right as they opened, though I wasn't seen any sooner. I at least made everyone laugh and got back by 9:30, so I didn't need to take any time off at all. I won't be shifting my regular schedule any later, but I was able to get even more done by staying later. When Julian woke up around 2:30 we chatted briefly but he was still in a daze. When I got out of work completely at 6, he was curled up on the couch passed out with his kids. Looked around for the pen more but no luck. This is why I buy them in bulk. They're like lighters.
