Mar. 5th, 2021 02:52 pmMaybe because I drank, but I woke up early and fairly full of energy. I was getting low on vodka, but it lasting 4 days is actually a step in the right direction, so I didn't feel bad about it, or about going to the store before work for it. I picked up a few more bags of the Rachael Ray Nutrish SoftSpots. I'll still see if I can find them cheaper/in bulk, but on first glance they were almost the same price, so this is fine. I bought some BOGO veg sushi and resisted the *very* powerful urge to steal. I thought about that compulsion, but ultimately concluded it's just a symptom of Depression Era Syndrome.
Julian sent me a message overnight double-checking my Bar license status, and he called me in the morning wanting to retain me in his unemployment appeal. I couldn't quite make sense of it on the phone (particularly as I was working at the same time), but I told him to just scan everything and email it over. I can Cyrano his responses. While I'm grudgingly fine with him interrupting my work day due to financial anxiety, he meandered into that digital connection substitute realm. And while I knew I wasn't going to get all of my work done, because I ended the call, I was able to end with Monday predicted to be an easy pace.
I journaled some after work, and marveled at feeling free in my free time. I drank and smoked, and I remembered to call Carl to create my character. I think the name I used for my warlock when last I played was "Kolas Cryknell," an anagram for "Kelly Clarkson," so that's what I went with instead of "Lavat," the Arabic slang for sex between men. Now that I'm thinking about it again, I think "Skyknell" would be a better last name, but not only is it good enough and already chosen, I don't have it in me to figure out a new name with "Olacr." All the variations that come to mind are...meh. He trusted me to be honest with my die rolls, and while I would have had no problem cheating, my dice actually rolled pretty stellar. I always forget that Carl has extensive artistic abilities. He's going to make me a character picture that looks like Quentin Coldwater with a pornstache.
I was honestly very excited to refine and openly describe what I wish I looked like. It was freeing. And now that I've done it, I can encourage the other players to get ready.
