Mister Mouse
Aug. 14th, 2020 02:11 pmI had a little trouble staying focused at work in the morning, but managed to get cleaned up and dressed for the Team Meeting. Lady Miss Friday was sleeping when we started, but joined us soon enough, so of course I spent the rest of the time staring adoringly at her. Several other folks commented on how much attention she seemed to be paying to the meeting. It was very interesting, if not terribly surprising, to see the night and day (you are the one) shift on my face before she got there to after she joined. The roundabout topic of my addiction came up, and everyone was adamant that I don't need to apologize for it, they're just glad I came back. By the end of the day, I did, in fact, manage to get absolutely all of my work done, and even started stealing work from others.
I reposted a meme about Trump, and it even got Justin's attention. Kind of an awkward time to be re-examining those feelings...and then to have to explain our connection to Julian when he asked. We video chatted and texted. He didn't know...almost anything about me. I don't talk about my life much, so that's not terribly surprising. Didn't know my mom is technically my step-mom, didn't know I was Jewish, didn't know I was (maybe? probably?) molested, etc. Apparently his dad is his step-dad? I shared with him my new favorite Agnes Obel song, and he was concerned about my depression. He called me "Mister Mouse," and it got me thinking about how incredibly open I am about everything in my life, and how most of my friends know (and love) me as "that mouse guy."
