Death March
Mar. 17th, 2012 11:23 amWoke up around 11:30, then realized I was supposed to be helping Joe and Nicole move at 9. Fuck. Didn't occur to me until now that most moves take longer than 3 hours, so I probably could have still helped. Decided to hit the gym. Looked around for my car outside, only to remember that I had driven Matt's car the night before, and left mine by The Loft. Walked over, grumbling the whole way, then stopped at the gym on the drive back. Thought it was funny that I grumbled about walking the 1.5 miles to have to get my car, then gleefully running 6 miles on the cross trainer at the gym.
Got a text from Alex, suggesting I meet him, Matt Bradford et al at Bourbon at 6:30, so I extended the invite to the rest of the boys as well. Big Eric had a trick at 6:30, so he said he'd meet us later. Bourbon was sparsely populated, but it was nice to see Matt and Jason again. I also re-met a friend of Jason's from back when he and I dated. Big Eric's trick had cancelled, so he joined us. Jason and Matt headed off for pizza, and Big Eric, Alex, and I headed to Mo's. It was crowded, and I kept having to remind myself that it was St. Patty's day. Big Eric's trick happened to be there, so he joined us. Not at all my type physically, but had an absolutely charming personality. They decided to stay in and canoodle instead of going to Bear Night, so Alex and I stopped back at my place before heading over.
Bear Night was PACKED, and we had to pay full cover. I'll do that for Bear Night. I made out with a couple boys on the floor, including Kevin and Bill from the cruise, and Matt Tisdale, danced a bunch, kept my bitterness from hitting the gogo dancers, and chatted with a lovely couple from Riverside. I also ran into Brandon Aberg, who I was tipsy enough to want to be around, but also tried to give him space.
All too soon, the night was over, but Alex had been invited to an after party downtown. This was sort of a mistake, but only sort of. There were some snacks and booze, but no mixers, and the music was terrible. I did meet one absolutely GORGEOUS man who used to be a model and now makes 100k/year as a photographer. Damn. I had a couple drinks, and then there were puppies. One was a Pomeranian, and very frightened by all the noise and drunk people around. I was drunk and protective, so I scooped him up, took him into a back room, and rubbed his belly until we were leaving.
