Thursday July 24– Wisely left the cookies at school, then walked over to work. Got to work, delighted to find I had been assigned Michael Sierakowski's cases, only to find that the systems were down. Since they were down, though, I didn't feel bad about going to lunch with everyone at Al Teatro. I almost got a sammich, but the number of cookies I'd eaten convinced me against it. I made too many cookies, though everyone loved them, and I even gave some to the teacher after class. Picked up some Nature's Express on the way home, because I was jonesing for something real. Ken left for his meeting, and told his mum and I to figure out dinner. Nick called shortly thereafter, invited me over for a beer. I had no desire to have a beer, but I knew he wanted to talk about being +, so I went. Got to meet his bf, who has a strange, nervous laugh. I had a couple glasses of wine, and made it clear that I wasn't going to sleep with them. I got a call at 8:40, and was shocked that it was not Ken, but Leah, who was out in front of our place with her gf and Evelyn. I met them at Brian's, where I didn't eat, but did help Evelyn drink a Cape Cod. Ken still wasn't home when I got back, so I called him. He'd gone for pizza with his mom. I said not two words to them when they did come home.
