Saturday - Woke up with no hangover to speak of, had a Boca Chik'n patty and some water. Came back in, had Valentine's Day sex, and gave Ken his cufflinks and card. He said thank you, but it was actually shirts that need cufflinks that he wanted. Fuck. My mom called, and I talked to her about how Ken wanted a Terrier, my convincing him to get a Corgi instead, and how I didn't really want a dog at all. While I was on the phone with her, Ken started looking up Corgi rescues. He found a pup named Cisco at a shelter in Apple Valley. In order to get there before they closed, we'd have to leave almost immediately. I resisted, since I had the SDYP meetup at 1, but eventually relented. We headed out in Leo's truck, stopping at Wendy's near where Robert used to live. The trip went by surprisingly quickly, and we listened to Bagetelle Brunch on Sirius/XM. When we got to the shelter, Ken went to get the pup, and I went to pee. I really did need to, but also really didn't want to see the other animals in cages. Ken was already out standing with Cisco when I got out. He really was adorable, and seemed very fond of us. I walked him around the grounds, and we went inside to do the paperwork. The ladies were all enamored of Cisco, and downright delighted that Ken and I were going to be his new daddies. There were other dogs, and it started getting crowded, so I took Cisco out for another walk. Paperwork finished, we started the long drive home. Cisco kind of freaked out when we got him in the car, shaking bunches, but eventually calmed down and slept in my lap. Dallas called from our front door, but we were still about an hour away. Stopped at at Pet'smart, picked up a bag of treats, a harness (Ken doesn't like collars), a chew toy, a bed, etc. Got him home, got everything set up, and took him out for a walk. I made a pasta salad to bring to Justin & Philip's, but it just wasn't coming together. I added tons of spices, etc. but they all just seemed to cancel themeselves out. I walked over to TJ's and bought pasta, mayo, and a ready-made dinner for Ken, tehn to Ralph's for a brush and a mat for Cisco. The brush was overpriced, and they had nothing resembling a mat. Ken added a bunch more spices, and it was passable. It just frustrated me because the one I made for the vegan picnic was freakin' awesome, and I was the only one to eat it. Ken laid down for a nap, and I took Cisco for another walk. I burned some CD's for Ken to give to Justin and Phil, but only one came out right, and it was getting late. We picked up a very tipsy Justin and headed over to the party. Dujorn was there, and not a lot of other people. Chad, the DJ was quite decent. Gent named Gabriel, who was visiting from San Francisco, and worked in HR, was in the kitchen and drunk. Dujorn got called away for a client, but had another beer before he left. Ken was still tired, and decided we were calling it an early night. In the car, I found out a lot of people there were on E or coke. I never realize these things. We dropped Justin off at Universal, then went home. Cisco had peed on the floor in our room, as well as thrown pillows around in the living room. Took him for one last walk, and we went to bed. Cisco initially slep between us, but Ken asked me to put him in his bed. No way that was going to happen, but I did move him to my legs. He later moved to our heads, and finally settled by my side.
