Abq Is Slowly Dying
Dec. 27th, 2008 06:41 pmFriday – Got up and got cleaned up, and Leo picked us up. Leo needed to drop his cable box off, but there was a huge line, and it apparently didn't move at all in the twenty minutes he was there, so we just said “fuck it.” Drove over to Annapurna, where the streets were empty, but everything was paid. Stupid. Ended up using the lot behind the place and not paying. Inside, I got the sammich I had been looking at, and a chocolate ladu, and Leo got a Lebanese wrap. I'm not sure why Ken got the tofu scramble, but he did, and it wasn't very good, as they tend not to be. I finished my sammich and fries, and Leo ate almost half of his. I still feel good about directing business their way. We went over to Sadie's after that, and it was SUPER busy. Leo was just walking by a table, and the folks sitting there told him he could have it as soon as they were done. They seemed to want to chat a bit more than that, but Leo just kind of smiled and nodded. The boys got a couple rounds of margaritas, and they each had a plate of food and some chips. I was plenty full from breakfast, so I avoided any food, though I did try a Midori margarita. We drove over to Leo's brother's furniture store after that, sine Ken had never met any of Leo's other siblings. It was apparently the area where Ken's friend Nichole lives, as well as a gent that used to be one of his regulars. I wonder if they ever barebacked. After visiting there, we went over to Gecko's, a lovely little bar, and had two rounds of drinks and a hot flash (Tuaca with a sugared lemon chaser). Stopped in at a little Babbette Schwartz-esque shop. Leo found a flask that he loved, and we all got shot glasses. They took me over to Sidewinders after that, where we had another couple rounds of drinks, and turned the heads of several gents. None of them were pretty, but it was nice. Our bartender used to live in San Diego, and we chatted with him for a while. Finished our last drink, and asked the bartender to close our tab, only to have him tell us we had no tab. The boys gave him a great big tip. We went back to the hotel after that, and Ken laid down for a nap, asking me not to let him sleep....er...okay....I hopped onto A4A, and talked to the only decent looking gent on there. I tried to wake Ken a couple times, but he was cranky and shooed me. I got the guy just about to the “what's your address” point, and Ken finally woke up. He was still cranky from sleeping, and VERY upset that I had been setting up a three-way without talking to him first. He again tried to say it was a double standard, but this is a situation where it's not. 1) I can always tell the guy “oh, sorry, it's not going to work” 2) Anytime Ken wants to have someone over to fuck me, I'm down. I don't need to talk about it first, I just need time to prep. We ended up not having him over, and Leo picked us up. Ken wanted to see the new hot-spot, Imbibe, and we found rockin' parking. There was a line for no reason other than that they wanted there to be one, and the inside was a bunch of very pretentious looking people smoking over-priced cigars. We made one lap there, and didn't even bother to get a drink, before we headed over to the Cellar Bar at Zinc, where a DJ they knew was playing. It was fairly crowded there, and when we got there he was playing “Black & Gold”, by the guy that Travis had mentioned on Monday. We hung our there for about 5 min, then headed back upstairs. As we were leaving, he started playing another song, one I've heard before, but can't decipher the artist or name. I called out to Ken, but I guess he didn't hear me, and by the time we got upstairs, it was too late. Damn. Ran into their friend Brad, and we all had a cocktail and chatted for a while. Left there, and headed over to O'Reilly's, where we had another round of drinks and another Hot Flash. Leo got some Fish & Chips, and I initially resisted, but eventually went ahead and had some of the chips. We went back to Sidewinders after that, where they were playing dance music....sort of....the dj was really really awful. We saw Tom there, and he mentioned that I should get Ken white flowers after white party. We drank probably more than we should, and I tried to get one of the guys to come home with us, and he said yes, but then stayed on the dance floor. Whatever. We headed over to the casino afterwards, where Ken gambled away $40, and I told him I'd noticed that with every game, he got up above his starting, then went down, but he's sticking with his philosophy of "double or nothing". Back at the hotel, Ken was some how much drunker than me, and was laying naked on the bed with his legs in the air, curtly telling me that I couldn't sex him. I stayed up chatting with some boys on Adam and Gay.com, and finally went to bed sometime around
