Oct. 30th, 2008 07:30 pmWednesday - Really tried my hardest to pay attention in Contracts, but I kept getting sidetracked by my research for the upcoming debate. The lecture itself took way longer than expected, and then Prof. Ehrlich gave a fairly vitriolic speech that took another 10 min., so there was no time for most questions. I was really glad I called on, since I was able to demolish his arguments, but I spoke so fast that most of what I said didn't register. I was really disappointed in a lot of the questions that were asked - most just appealed to emotion. I did feel great afterwords, when one of the students congratulated me on knocking out all of his arguments. .. yay! Someone heard! Paid some attention in CivPro, but mostly read ahead. Got home before Ken, and then went with him to run errands. We ran up to Convoy, so he could start his SDG&E account, then over to Jerome's, where he bought the couch he was thinking about. At my suggestion, he stopped by TJ's on the way home and we picked up some Beefless strips so I could make dinner. Also stopped by Henry's so he could pick up ingredients to make a cucumber tomato salad for a potluck on Friday. Back at home, I made us dinner, which didn't come out horrible, but also not great, though he seemed very happy with it. Cleaned up afterwords, then read on the couch while he watched TV. Leo called, and the two of them talked about some details for the NM trip. We talked after, and he mentioned that the plan was to fly out late on X-mas, then stay Friday in Abq., then drive out to Phoenix, spend the day there, and then drive back.....I suggested we just fly out to Abq, then drive up to Phoenix. And then we started fighting. I started out saying, several times, that I definitely wanted to go, I just wanted to know why we were spending an extra day in abq for no reason. He said he had things to do, but couldn't specify what those were aside from seeing April. He got to the point where he just said "Then don't go!" That's never going to go over well with me, and I started getting snarky. We eventually made up, but he kept calling me mean, butthead, etc. for the next hour and a half. More even than hearing what he was saying, which was in jest, it cost me a lot to sit there and be called "bad boyfriend" for that long and not retort. Finally, the venom building inside me threatened to start oozing out of my pores, and I declared that I was done. He protested a little, but has always been really good at reading my looks, and became very affectionate after that. Good snuggles.
