So, there's a movie coming out on December 9th called Brokeback Mountain. It's based on a short story by the same name, from a book called "Close Range, Wyoming Stories". I just read the book, and it's absolutely fantastic. Go immediately to the nearest public library and borrow a copy. When the movie comes out, go see it. Bring a friend. Bring 20 friends. Have them bring 20 friends. Once again: read book, watch movie.

I saw the trailer tonight, and I was really impressed - a major Hollywood release about non-crossdressing, not funny, not stereotyped men who happen to be gay. It looks like there might be actual love scenes. Huzzah for America growing up.

I might just. That, of course, depends on wether on not it's at a theatre I can see it at.

I'm not certain that America has grown up; it'll depend on the box office returns for the movie. I was actually really skeptical, even having seen the trailer, until I read it. From reviews I've read so far, it seems like the movie follows the book vrey closely.
